Virginia Native Live Oaks

Quercus virginiana, commonly named Live Oak, grows up to eighty feet tall and as wide. Native to the southeast, Live Oaks can be found thriving in the sandy soil of the Virginia coast. The low spreading branches and evergreen foliage create a dense canopy that casts shade from the summer sun and heat.

Live Oaks are long lived and require little care once established. They are commonly found on the grounds of southern plantations. Live Oaks are the perfect native shade trees for large lawns and parks.
